Tokyo Police Club, a long-running Toronto band, revealed their farewell tour this week. On November 19, they will play at Irving Plaza in New York City.

The band says on Instagram: “NYC!! A major Home Away From Home for TPC, especially in the early days – we spent many happy hours taking advantage of drink deals that would be illegal in Toronto and dreaming about all the cool New York venues we’d get to play someday. So it’s fitting that Irving Plaza in NYC is the first (American) stop on THE FINAL TOUR to sell out, and we’re thrilled to announce a 2ND NYC SHOW on Nov 20 – tickets are ON SALE NOW! Come help us say a very very fond farewell to one of the most beautiful things there is: Tokyo Police Club in New York City 🫡”

Tokyo Police Club has also released its last two tracks - Just a Scratch and Catch Me If You Can - which were recorded at Toronto's Taurus Recording with producer Jesse Turnbull.

In the middle of the 2000s, drummer Greg Alsop, guitarist Josh Hook, guitarist and keyboardist Graham Wright, and vocalist and bassist Dave Monks founded Tokyo Police Club in Ontario. Elephant Shell, the band's debut full-length album, was released in 2008 after receiving some notice from EPs including A Lesson in Crime and Smith. Following were three additional studio albums: Champ (2010); Forcefield (2014); and TPC (2018).
The band’s John Hook has also expressed: “We have been so fortunate and privileged to have been able to share our music but even more to have had personal moments shared with us—from graduations to birthdays and onstage proposals. To still see the same familiar faces who have been coming out since the beginning of our touring days and to be connected with so many people through music over almost 20 years of life is truly an honour. This final tour will be the best retirement party anyone could ask for. Thank you so much for being with us on this wild ride.”
You surely don’t want to miss the last chance to see the band perform live. So go ahead and click the GET TICKETS button here.
