The Norwegian jazz trio that’s been putting out international jams since the new millenia is finally BACK in the big apple and on tour once again! Coming straight to our stage on Saturday May 9th, doesn’t a night of intergalactic jazz sound like the PERFECT way to bring the season in?! YEP - we were thinking that, too!

That’s ‘cause the next group we got coming up to the stage is THE THING - fresh off the plane and going on an INSANE tour run here in the states for the next few months. From Toronto to Boston to West Hollywood and all the way down to Austin - the boys are hitting 20 stops over the Spring months as they remind us why jazz is king when it comes to all things featuring The Thing. So thank god we have a chance to see them right here for their FINAL stop of the tour. Right here on Saturday May 9th - get ready for a whole night full of Two Bands, A Legend, and jazz that Sounds Like A Sandwich with a whole lot of love and dedication in between.
SO - you may be asking, who is The Thing anyway?! Beyond the movie and the character from that one superhero film - The Thing is a Euro Free Jazz band that focuses on playing irregular tempos, spontaneous compositions and avant-garde renditions of not only their music, but also the classics. Formed in 2000 - the band has always appeared on stage in the exact same T Shirts from Ruby’s Barbeque down in Austin. No one knows why, but their albums like She Knows, Garage, Action Jazz and quite frankly their entire early 2000s run is what put them on the map and made them a global sensation, filled with Youtube and Reddit comments that made the crew bubble from the depths of the underground to the current day worldwide tour. So, if you’ve never heard of them before, trust us - it was worth the wait, and now it’s time to see them live and in action. A quarter century in and they still sound so innovative - exactly what the doctor called for on a Saturday night here in the big apple.
