The Academy... is finally back. After a couple of teasers and speculation from fans, the legendary 2000s rockers have officially announced their return with the Almost Here 20th Anniversary Tour. Celebrating twenty years since their 2005 debut album came out, it's no ordinary feat for a band to have their pop-rock & emo tunes sticking around - even amassing new listeners in this day and age of streaming. Whether you're a longtime fan or a new rocker, everyone's welcome to join in and be part of this huge milestone. Playing 'Almost Here' in full, it's gonna be a rock-out night to remember.

About The Academy Is...

Hailing from Chicago, Illinois, The Academy Is... was formed in 2003. Signing with Fueled by Ramen and recording their first album in 2004, "Almost Here" finally came out on February 2005. While touring extensively to promote the record, and touring with the likes of Fall Out Boy, Matchbook Romance, Motion City Soundstrack, Something Corporate, Midtown, and Armor for Sleep, the band caugh the attention of the rock crowd. Impressing fellow bands in the genre, The Academy Is... was a promising force in emo music. 

Since then, the band has performed in various headlining tours and music festivals, including the Vans Warped Tour, Riot Fest Chicago, Slam Dunk Festival, and many more. 

Though they initially disbanded back in October 2011, its members have came back for reunion shows in 2015, 2022, and this year as they celebrate 20 years of Almost Here. Through it all, their hearts have stayed burning for rock-out punk & emo energies.

As always, The Academy Is... was never your average rock band. Throughout their history, they've got music, antics, and concerts that took things to the next level. In a lookback by Alternative Press back in 2020, lead singer William Beckett shared a couple of thoughts surrounding Almost Here and the band's state at the time. 

"We’ve always wanted to focus on the songs and the message and what we’re trying to convey, but at the same time, we’re a rock ’n’ roll band," Beckett shared. "And there’s a certain element of a style and a swagger that go into that."
