“I’m not trying to be the world’s fastest violinist. I want the violin to be the melody—to be the voice. It’s my way of writing pop music for movies that don’t exist yet,” said Joel Sunny via The Line of Best Fit.

Garnering more than 53 million likes on TikTok, his fanbase is quickly growing and multiplying like never before. “It’s just that the violin is my voice,” he told Rolling Stone AU/NZ. Sharing how classical music was once the biggest genre on earth just as how pop music took over modern times, Sunny merges these two genres into magical pieces of art, tapping into emotions that anyone can connect to. Looking far ahead, “It’s going to be an exciting ride,” he says about meeting his fans, writing songs, and experimenting with new sounds and visuals. With music associated with cinematic worlds, he dreams of writing scores for films, and keep up with doing his own mini movies of melodies in his records. 

“I see myself releasing bodies of work because that’s how I write. I don’t think in singles. I think in worlds,” he told The Line of Best Fit.
