I DON’T KNOW HOW BUT THEY FOUND ME – aka iDKHOW – have unveiled their funky new single ‘Gloomtown Brats.’ The single is off their forthcoming sophomore album, ‘Gloom Division,’ which will be out on the 23rd of February via Concord Records. The band initially consisted of frontman Dallon Weekes and drummer Ryan Seaman. However, it was announced in September 2023 that Seaman would be departing the band. Dallon Weekes is forging ahead and excited to release the sophomore album though.

In a statement, he promises his fans of what’s yet to come. He said, “Writing has always been an outlet to exorcize your demons or difficult emotions, but with GLOOM DIVISION I made a conscious effort to stop censoring myself when it comes to the subject material, or what I wanted to say.”

GLOOM DIVISION was produced by Dave Fridmann - the same man behind songs by Tame Impala, MGMT, and Weezer. It showcases a boundary-pushing fusion of R&B, post-punk and art-pop. It also explored themes ranging from love and obsession to satanic panic and neurodivergence. The album was recorded at Fridmann’s Tarbox Road Studios and Weekes’ own basement studio.

Alongside the release of the second single, it was also revealed that I DONT KNOW HOW BUT THEY FOUND ME (iDKHOW) is headed on the 2024 GLOOMTOWN TOUR. It’s a 27-date trek across the country and will feature support from the SoCal four piece band Benches. The tour kicks off on the 15th of March in Nashville, Tennessee and will conclude on the 18th of April with the final show held in San Diego, California. Right in the middle of the tour is a stop in New York City - so if you’re a fan in the area, you know what to do.
