HOW IT ALL BEGAN

A project by Mark and Shehnaz Gonzales, the lockdown stint became a strong DJ community, churning out viral moments one step at a time. 

The story all began straight from the pandemic when DJs wondered how they could keep spinning tracks while people couldn’t hit the dancefloor. The internet became they key — virtual sets, honing their skills, all-out remixes, and viral machines on TikTok & IG. Fans supported their favorite DJs, streamed livestreams on YouTube & Twitch, and kept the party going straight from their homes. 

Noise Complaints took it all to the next level. Founded by Filipino-American DJ Mark Gonzales with his wife, Shehnaz, in 2024 — the project raked up over 380,000 subscribers on YouTube in just over a year. From a viral apartment gig down to massive live events, Noise Complaints became a crowd-driven movement that can turn any space into an all-out DJ party. Whether digital or on site, you’re assured that a Noise Complaints show will hit hard.

“It started because I left a job in the music industry. I used to work as a videographer/filmmaker for Empire. When I left for a tech job, I was no longer in music and doing what I love, so I invited some DJs to my apartment and filmed it because I have all this camera gear with me and posted it online,” Mark shared via Kollective Hustle.
