More than 45 years ago, the groundbreaking rock band The Damned debuted on the British music scene. The Damned were the first-ever UK punk rock band to be established with the release of the album "DAMNED, DAMNED, DAMNED". The release followed the single "New Rose". The band has since gone on to record 10 studio albums and multiple UK-charting singles. Their sound has covered different sounds - from punk rock to gothic to even the pop genre. To date, they remain one of the most powerful and theatrical live bands in the world.

The Damned has been around for almost five decades and they’re not stopping anytime soon. Formed in 1976, they haven’t stopped releasing hits. They’re known for shaping the punk rock genre of the 70s and 80, influencing the style of many who have come after. Some of their most notable songs include “Eloise,” “Nasty,” “New Rose,” and “Love Song.”

Current members of the band are Dave Vanian (lead vocals), Captain Sensible (guitar, backing vocals), Paul Gray (bass, backing vocals), Monty Oxymoron (keyboards, backing vocals), and new member Will Taylor on the drums. The band’s unique style - including baritone singing, dark lyrics and vampire-themed costumes - are one of goth’s major influences. To this date, The Damned has retained their aura of darkness.

Just this year, they released their album DARKADELIC and it’s indeed anthems of darkness. Thomas Mitchener produced, engineered, and mixed DARKADELIC. Meanwhile, John Davis oversaw mastering at Metropolis Studios. The album was recorded at Kore Studios in Acton and Broadfields Studio in Watford. The album was well-received by both critics and fans alike. UK’s Vive Le Rock even said, “Some of their finest recorded performances. The Damned have pulled a blinder.”

The Damned’s upcoming Halloween tour is something you definitely want to see. With a brand new album and exciting lineup, the show is surely going to take your Halloween celebration to a new level. The band will be joined by Fucked Up and Baby Shakes - and things are going to be wild. So, come to the Irving Plaza on the 31st of October and have a damn good time. Tickets are on sale right now. Grab yours before they sell out!
